A Dog’s Home Away From Home at Pet Friendly Hotel Pennsylvania
Every February, canine champions gather from across North America in New York to compete in the Westminster Dog Show. With over 2,500 hopeful contenders vying for the prestigious title of Best in Show, New York’s Hotel Pennsylvania has opened its doggie doors to theses VIPs (Very Important Pooches). The Hotel welcomed close to a thousand dogs in style, including last years ‘best in show’ winner Rufus, the bull-terrier. Hotel public relations official turned ‘Doggie Concierge’ Jerry Grymek was on hand to direct the dogs and their owners to the Hotel’s exciting canine services and events, including:

- In 1919, the hotel was designed by the prominent architectural firm of McKim, Mead and White, which also completed landmark properties such as the original Pennsylvania Railroad Station, Pierpont Morgan Library, Columbia University and the United States Post Office Building on Eighth Ave.
- Considered one of the most popular nightclubs in New York the Hotel Pennsylvania’s Café Rouge was home to some of the world’s greatest “Big Bands” at their height, including Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey. A Dog’s Home Away From Home at Pet Friendly Hotel Pennsylvania

The Hotel welcomed close to a thousand dogs in style, including last years ‘best in show’ winner Rufus, the bull-terrier. Hotel public relations official turned ‘Doggie Concierge’ Jerry Grymek was on hand to direct the dogs and their owners to the Hotel’s exciting canine services and events, including:
- A complimentary welcome kit containing treats, information on the Hotel’s pet services and a variety of pet publications.
- The city’s largest indoor doggie spa including beauty parlor & salon, massage and comfort stations, exercise area, walking area, and his and hers relieving area.
- Consultations from the ‘Dog-tors’ corner including a canine masseuse and animal communicator.
- Personal service from the Doggie Concierge for all special food requests or to schedule a meeting with the ‘pup’arazzi.
- A red carpet fashion show and designer fashion show, featuring gown and tuxedo designs for fashionable dogs. All proceeds went to the Animal Cancer Foundation.
- A live pre-show broadcast satellite feed in the Hotel’s main lobby for media market outlets to interview the dog stars.
