Grooms Beach Villas and Resort Now Open:
Locally owned and operated by Mr. & Mrs. Kenny Forrester, The Grooms Beach Villas and Resort opened to the public on January 11, 2008. Located in the south of Grenada, just minutes from Port Salines International Airport and steps away from the golden sands of Dr. Grooms beach, the property boasts 20 self-contained apartments with 29 bedrooms. The opening was attended by a variety of officials including Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Civil Aviation, and the Performing Arts, Mrs. Arlene Buckmire-Outram, who gave the feature address on behalf of the Minister Hon. Dr. Clarice Modeste Curwen and Senator Ann David Antoine who spoke on behalf of the Prime Minister.

Grenada is always abundant with activities that offer visitors an opportunity to participate in the enthusiasm of the local culture. The following highlights key dates and events in March:

St. Patrick’s Day – March 17, 2008: Each year, Grenada's northern parish of St. Patrick celebrates the feast of St. Patrick with a week of activities centered around March 17, the official Feast Day of St. Patrick. Events include exhibitions of local arts and craft, agricultural produce, food, drinks and cultural extravaganzas.

How to Get to Grenada from Canada

Air Canada Vacations offers a non-stop seasonal flight from Toronto to Grenada from December to April (visit www.aircanadavacations.com), with a Sunday departure. Air Canada and Caribbean Airlines operate regularly scheduled flights from Toronto and Montreal to Barbados or Trinidad with connections on LIAT to Grenada. GG Tours and Titan Tours operate charter services (www.ggtours.ca and www.titantours.com). Air Jamaica offers regularly scheduled non-stop flights to Grenada from JFK in New York.

LaSource Reopens its Doors to Guests: Reopened on February 1, 2008, LaSource is a health-oriented all-inclusive resort that emphasizes healthy activities and eating, without sacrificing fun or flavour. 6th Annual Grenada Round-the-Island Easter Regatta – March 20 - 24, 2008: For the first time in the history of the Round-the-Island Easter Race, the Start and Finish of the race will be at Le Phare Bleu Marina, on the South Coast of Grenada. The course is approximately 45 nautical miles and will be sailed by yachts in three different classes; Racing Class, Cruising Class and Multi-Hull Class. The winners in each class will receive a prestigious prize.

On Saturday evening, there will be the prize-giving party, with live music provided by a highly-acclaimed, funky Swiss band. Sunday will be a day to relax, enjoy a brunch at the Marina and for those who are still feeling competitive, take part in a dinghy race around Calivigny Island. Easter 2008: Guests visiting the Island in March should be aware that March 21 (Good Friday) and March 24 (Easter Monday), are public holiday so banks and businesses will be closed.
