| What’s New in Grenada for 2009 – Hotels, Spas and Eco-resorts! Grand Harbour Waterfront Residences: Grand Harbour is a collection of luxury waterfront residences located on Egmont Point, a spectacular peninsular on the south coast of Grenada. Contemporary and Caribbean describe the feel of the resort, as well as the refined interior designs. Grand Harbour offers 26 fully serviced private slips, a mega yacht berth, swimming pool, day spa and fitness centre, restaurant, bar and an impressively equipped water sports club.
It comprises 54 units of three-bedroom waterfront town houses, three-bedroom waterfront apartments and two-bedroom hillside apartments. Grand Harbour is due for completion by December 2009.
Bacolet Bay Resort & Spa: Set in a perfect location bordering lush rainforest and warm seas with white sand beaches, Bacolet Bay Resort & Spa is set in a quintessential bay that fronts the Caribbean and offers spectacular sea and mountain views whilst being conveniently close to the capital, St. George’s. The luxurious resort will spread over 41 acres of tropical gardens and comprise a mix of apartments, villas and hotel cottages offering state-of-the-art facilities including spa and fitness centre, tennis courts, beachfront bars and restaurants. The overall project will be completed by 2010.
Levera Resort & Spa: The express wish of the new owners is not just to provide a long-term legacy to the people of Grenada, but also to create a world-class luxury Eco-resort. The project will be low-density and, in keeping with its ecological goals, will focus on the preservation of the Levera National Park, Levera Beach and the protection of the turtle-breeding habitat. The current construction schedule shows the hotel being completed by late 2011. This will be the first significant hotel in the north end of the island, providing many important opportunities for employment and expansion of services. The room configuration will be as follows: Levera will have 60 villas ranging from 1-bedroom to 3–bedrooms.
The Point: Located on the south coast of Grenada on a captivating 2-acre waterfront lot of land in the quiet residential area of Fort Jeudy, this property has two white sand beaches and edges turquoise sheltered waters, offering protected swimming and snorkeling with the safety of an outer reef. This 15-room resort design has incorporated many ecological ideas to reduce the impact on the Eco-system through the use of solar water heating, solar lighting and an efficient water irrigation system. The Point will have a restaurant, bar, lounge and a holistic spa. The completion date is earmarked for the first quarter in 2009.

| Sun & Beach Holiday Season in Grenada
With the decrease in temperature and increase in holiday cheer, many people have opted to try a more relaxing tropical ‘Holiday Season’ over Christmas and New Year's. Imagine as the temperature drops in Canada spending the days on a sprawling white sand beach surrounded by lush greenery and clear Caribbean turquoise waters, without a speck of snow insight. Grenada offers a variety of festive activities that allow guests to escape the urban holiday 'hustle and bustle’, while still maintaining the intimate spirit of the holiday season. Examples include:
Fish Friday: Every Friday from November 2, 2008 to January 4, 2009, the Gouyave Fish Friday Festival Company will be presenting special holiday events. Guests and locals alike can enjoy the Holiday Spirit at a variety of presentations including: Humor and Calypso Friday, featuring the Island’s most talented drama clubs and humorous calypsonians; Family Evenings; Band Splash and Jazzy Drum-Pan Fridays. Visitors can enjoy such traditional favourites as 'Fish-tastic’ recipe tasting, 'Bamboo Bursting’ contests and Parang (Carol) singing.
Christmas: Many of Grenada’s Christmas traditions are similar to those in Canada. The season places emphasis on togetherness and generosity (which there is no shortage of in Grenada), while enjoying such familiar icons as carolers, evergreen trees and most importantly, food. Visitors spending the holiday season on the Island should try to indulge in some of the seasonal dishes, including blackened ham, Christmas pudding, black fruit cake (prepared in October specifically for Christmas), sorrel and ginger beer. Many of Grenada’s fine hotels and resorts get into the spirit of the holiday season by including their guests in the festivities.
New Year’s Eve: Many hotels, restaurants and nightclubs hold gala balls and parties, with special dinner menus, live entertainment and fireworks to welcome the New Year. Events are designed with something for everyone...from the young to the young at heart.
