January 25th, 2007 (San Francisco, CA) — The Adventure Collection announced today that renowned travel writer and editor Don George will serve as editor in chief of the association’s newly revamped website, www.adventurecollection.com.
George, whose 25-year career includes stints as travel editor at the San Francisco Examiner & Chronicle, founder and editor of Salon.com’s Wanderlust travel site and most recently Global Travel Editor for Lonely Planet Publications, will oversee a flagship section of the Adventure Collection site to be called Don’s Place. For Don’s Place, George will create a blog, reviews of notable new travel-related books, interviews with leaders in the adventure travel field, and an Ask Don Q&A area. George will also oversee a new Adventure Blog, which will feature in-the-field reports from tour leaders and travel experts.
Don’s Place launches as part of an entirely redesigned Adventure Collection web presence. www.adventurecollection.com offers travelers a sophisticated search function that showcases over 600 adventures around the globe. The site also features an extensive array of travel resources, as well as customized tools that allow travelers to create personal records, lists, and vacation messages.
