Buddy Bombard’s Europe - Burgundy and the Loire Valley A Superb Experience of ‘Palates and Palettes’

It’s never been enough for Buddy Bombard to offer the world’s only vacation experience of its kind, luxury land packages with low-level excursions by balloon scheduled for each day.

In the Loire Valley 4-nights are at 15th-18th century Domaine de Beauvois. Dining is at Château D’Artigny, the Michelin star restaurants at Château Belmont (Chef Jean Bardet), and Château Choiseul. Daily adventures by balloon are over romantic royal châteaux, the magnificent gardens at Villandry and Château Chenonceau.  Sightseeing visits include the Middle Age fortress of Château Langeais and Château d’Usse, whose romantic turrets inspired Charles Perrault’s Sleeping Beauty.

Between trips there is a 3-day private drive through castle and wine country to the ancient village of Epoisses and the basilica town of Vezelay. Overnights are spent at luxury inns en route—Auberge de Templier, an original ‘Relais & Châteaux’ and Château Vault de Lugny, a 13th century country estate. Buddy Bombard’s Europe reports a significant increase in travelers on their 2006 Swiss Winter Alpine Adventures, with nearly 200% more travelers on the exotic offerings as compared to previous seasons. Advance bookings for the January 2007 season indicate the demand for Buddy Bombard’s annual 9-day, 8-night Highlights of the Alps and Château d’Oex International Balloon Festival programs support this latest trend.

Bombard’s Swiss Winter Alpine Adventures, means guests enjoy a dramatic, multi-dimensional immersion into the majesty of the winter Swiss Alps, surrounded by stunning Alpine scenery, gourmet food and wines, and authentic local culture, on land and during Bombard’s trademark low-level sightseeing adventures by balloon planned for each day throughout every trip. Bombard guests make their home for 5 or 8-nights, at Gstaad’s 5-star Grand Hotel Park.

After each magical balloon outing guests might visit local points of interest by private car, or enjoy the boutiques in the world-famous village of Gstaad. The planned evening events are dinner parties hosted by Buddy Bombard in the area’s famous premier and gourmet restaurants, featuring excellent wines with French, Mediterranean or nouvelle Swiss cuisines with authentic raclette and splendid local cheeses.

Sally and Bernard Killoran of Green Bay, Wisconsin took the Highlights of the Alps and Château d’Oex International Balloon Festival as their first trip in 2001. Being so inspired with a Bombard experience they decided then and there to complete the series of Bombard offerings. This was accomplished in 2006 during Buddy’s 30th anniversary season.
