Adventure Collection members post record revenue levels
Adventure Collection members posted record levels of both passengers and revenue in calendar year 2005. Combined revenue for the 11 member (Adventure Collection) association climbed 23.1% over year ago to $270.4 million. Guests traveling with Adventure Collection members in 2005 rose 13.9% over year ago to 67,122.
“Overall, our members are extremely pleased with 2005 results,” said Larry Mogelonsky, executive director of Adventure Collection. “This marks a watershed year as both revenue and passenger count exceeded the previous high set in 2000 prior to the events of September 11, 2001.”
“The adventure travel market’s continued growth reflects accelerated demand by ‘baby boomers’ for experiential travel: a combination of culture, learning and testing new horizons,” added Mr. Mogelonsky. “With this demographic segment moving into retirement over the next 5 – 10 years, we expect continued strengthening in demand as leisure time increases.”
